Xenograft

The word "xeno-" means foreign. It comes from the Greek word "xenos" meaning stranger, guest, or host. Xenograft is a surgical graft of tissue from one species to another species, genus or family. A common example is the use of pig heart valves in humans.

Deproteinized bovine bone (DBB) has a chemical composition and architectural geometry that is almost identical to that of human bone tissue and can support new bone formation.
