Verbal Rating Scale

Name

Verbal rating scale, verbal rating scale of pain.

Description

The person in pain describes the intensity of pain, and how they feel. In its simplest form, the patient choses one of those: none, mild, moderate, severe). Thus, this is a qualitative measurement technique.

Verbal rating scale, indeed, not a single scale, but a group of scales. As the common characteristics of this group, rather than a measurable scale, the patient uses words to describe his/her pain. Being an example to verbal rating scales is: McGill Pain Questionnaire.
