William T. BOVIE


American physicist. Famous for Bovie electrocautery tool. He  was Assistant Professor and Research Fellow in Bio-Physics in the Harvard University and a member of the Cancer Commission. Collaborating with Dr. Harvey Cushing, he developed the high-frequency electrosurgical unit. Dr. Cushing used it successfully for removal of brain tumor for the first time (1925). He worked in Medical School of Northwestern University in Chicago. He was the author of books "The Influence of Ultra-violet Light on Nutrition in Poultry", and "The Action of Schumann Rays on Living Organisms".
